Jason + Jonah - a downtown Savannah Surprise Proposal
There’s something undeniably magical about Savannah: the way time slows down, the oak trees stretch wide, and every corner feels like it’s holding a story. For Jason and Jonah, their visit to this charming southern city turned into a moment they’ll never forget.
A Proposal at Forsyth Park
The day began with breakfast at Collins Quarter, nestled right by Forsyth Park. With the iconic fountain nearby and the soft morning light filtering through the trees, Jason chose the perfect moment to ask Jonah to spend forever with him. And of course he said yes.
Shortly after, I met them back at their hotel, where the excitement was still fresh, the kind that lingers in every glance and every laugh.
Starting at Perry Lane Hotel
We kicked off their engagement session at the stunning Perry Lane Hotel. The interior is nothing short of inspiring—rich textures, bold patterns, and a beautifully curated, eclectic style that made for such a unique backdrop. We captured a few intimate moments inside, letting them soak it all in before heading out into the city.
Strolling Through Chippewa Square
From there, we made our way to Chippewa Square, one of Savannah’s most picturesque spots. The towering live oaks draped in Spanish moss created the dreamiest setting. It felt quiet, romantic, and perfectly fitting for two people so completely wrapped up in each other.
Wandering the City
One of the best parts of any Savannah session is simply wandering. We explored the historic streets, stopping whenever something caught our eye catching staircases, hidden alleyways, and those little in-between spots that make the city feel so special. Every backdrop felt like it was made for them.
Jason and Jonah couldn’t keep their hands off each other the entire time…in the best way!! Their joy was effortless, their connection undeniable. It’s always an honor to photograph couples like this, who are so fully present with each other.
A Session to Remember
After the session, Jason shared how happy he was with how everything turned out, which means the world to me. He mentioned how comfortable they both felt, and how confident Jonah felt in front of the camera. That’s always my goal: to create a space where you can just be yourselves.
Jason and Jonah, thank you for letting me be a part of such an incredible day. Your love is something truly special and I’m so glad Savannah got to be the beginning of this chapter for you both.
